The Start to a great Wedding
What makes a wedding great?
We all tend to get lost in the plans of a wedding and forget to remember what weddings are supposed to be about. Its not about the fancy dress, the pretty rings,or the event of a life time. Its about a commitment. A commitment between two people. Two people who are promising not only to love one another for the remainder of a lifetime, but a promise to grow together, fight together and for one another. This means that your commitment means so much that your willing to stand in front of not only friends and family but your community and tell them that this person is who you are making a promise to. In today's times we forget that promise and when it comes to weddings we seem to lose our minds just a little. Remember its not about how much you spend, but about who is standing next to you. If you chose the right officiant they can help you along the way.
So here are a few guidelines:
1. Talk about what you want and what you expect from this event.
2. Set a budget.
3. When asked a question give an honest answer.
4. Ask friends and family if there is something special they are looking for in this event. (There is always one person who will make a request that you can't meet. This is not for them it is for you and your partner). Remember it is perfectly acceptable to say no.
5. Pick a date. Picking the date is a major first step. The event needs to be scheduled far enough out to give you time to meet all the expectations for an event.
6. Don't get lost in the details. Assign things to those whom you know can get the job done. Don't assume you have to do everything yourself but also don't assume you will get everything you want.
7. Be specific. We talking with the people you have hired and friends who have volunteered to help, you must be very clear. If you say I don't know and leave it up to someone else don't be surprised if it nothing you like.
8. Stay calm. The event can't happen without you.
9. Hire a professional. You can always believe that Aunt Sally will do as you ask, but if your not paying, you have no say.
10. Read reviews and ask for references.
11. Have fun!
10. Have fun! Its not just about the day its about the process and experience with one another. You are a team now. Do this together and be there for one another.
